Garlic Butter Steak and Potatoes Skillet
If you’re looking to change from the usual version of steak and fries, this garlic butter steak and potatoes skillet is a straightforward and quick recipe to add a whole new range of flavors to your cookbook.
Directions
Boil three medium-size potatoes in water with salt over medium heat for 10 minutes to precook them. When they have cooled down, slice them.
In a large bowl, mix 1 1/2 pounds of chopped steak with 1/3 cup of soy sauce, a tablespoon of olive oil and a teaspoon of oregano. Marinate the steak pieces while cooking the potatoes.
In an 8-inch skillet, over medium heat, mix one tablespoon of olive oil and one tablespoon of butter.
When the butter melts, add the potato slices. Let them cook for 4 minutes, stir and let them cook for another 4 minutes until the potatoes are golden. Put them on a plate.
Keep the same pan on medium heat and add two tablespoons of butter and three cloves of minced garlic.
When the garlic has started to brown, place the chunks of fillet in the pan without the marinade. Cook for a couple of minutes on each side until the steaks are just right.
When the steak chunks are ready, add the marinade on top and cook for another couple of minutes.
Add the potatoes back to the pan and add salt and pepper if needed.
Turn off the heat and serve at the table.
You can garnish with sliced green onions.
